“Not City Lodge, why not that other hotel?” That was what I said to myself when a colleague and I were invited for a one-night sleepover at City Lodge Hotel in Waterfall City, Gauteng, recently.

Though I was sceptical, I still accepted the invitation, because would you turn down a free hotel experience with January having a thousand days that won’t end?
